Nias Island.... Thousand of wonder

In the tourism, this island has a great potential for tourism. There are many beatiful beach in nias island, one of the beach is sorake, which is well known for it’s high wave that’s good for surfing. There are many times, when sorake was choosen to held the world surfing tournament.

And, there is another beach, that’s called Lagundri beach. The beach had white beach, that’s located in a laguna. It’s near the sorake beach, and about 13 km from the south of Teluk Dalam City. Lagundri Island is great for surfing, because of it’s coral reef, exotic colorful fishes. And also there are historical sites too there, such as megalithic stones at Lahusa and Gomo District.

Meanwhile, there are ancient artefact such as Traditional Nias Village at Bawomataluo that located at the small settlement and on the top of the hill. That district saving many ethnic, especially the original ancient people lifes with many traditions such as Hombo Batu or we called Lompat Batu (Stone Jump).

That places is very suitable and good for tourist object. Because, belong the Lagundri Beach and Sorake Beach there’re homestay that ready to serve and persuade the tourist which want to enjoying a beach scenery. The fee of the homestays are very cheap, same as Melati Motel. Until now if we take a ferry from Sibolga to Sitoli Mountain or take a plane from Polonia Medan to Binaka, you’ll find many white-skin toutist. They are Surfing maniac that will go to Sorake Beach and enjoying the beautiful of white beach sand in Lagundri.
